Maison Elle
Boutique Hotel near Vondel Park
A touch of Paris graces the elegant Maison Elle, with its lush green garden.
When breakfast is served in the morning with croissants, pain au chocolat, and café au lait, and we enjoy it on pale blue velvet chairs in front of wood-paneled walls, we almost have to remind ourselves that we are in Amsterdam, and that the famous Rijksmuseum, with its old Dutch masters, is just a five-minute bike ride away.
Maison Elle is nestled near the beautiful Vondelpark, in an upscale Amsterdam townhouse from 1910.
While the view from the window doesn’t directly overlook the park, it does offer scenes of green courtyards, sprawling old trees, the slender spire of the Park Church, and the magnificent gable of Villa Betty.
Some of the rooms are cozily small, but lovingly furnished, bright, and comfortable.
The team, who greet us in the gray-paneled reception rooms downstairs, are warm and welcoming.
In the breakfast lounge, with large windows facing the garden, we feel so comfortable that we also like to use it as a living room during our breaks between city excursions.
The hotel is perfectly located for this purpose, as we can quickly reach Stach Food, the Coffee District, the Night Kitchen, and many other favorite destinations.
Just around the corner, we rent a bike from Black Bikes, and from Maison Elle, we can easily reach any part of Amsterdam we wish to explore.
