Historic brick house on Haregade, Copenhagen. White windows with red wooden shutters, a green front door, and a black bicycle leaning against the facade.

Enchanting City Home for Two in the Heart of Copenhagen

The settlement, where this charming apartment is located, is framed by the King’s Garden, the Rose Park, the Botanical Garden, Østre Park, and the Kastellet fortress.

What sounds like a rural idyll is actually super centrally located and a perfect retreat between exciting city days.

We love Jette’s apartment in Østerbro.

The Nyboder, as the rows of many small yellow houses are called, were built in the 17th century as accommodations for the Royal Danish Navy.

Each row of houses shares a garden line with the opposite row houses. The view from Jette’s kitchen and the small dining room, separated from the bedroom by a white double door, looks out onto one of these gardens.

Open window in an Airbnb apartment on Haregade, Copenhagen. View of a green courtyard with a brick facade, ivy-covered walls, and a wooden fence.

Everything is decorated in muted blue tones and various shades of white, from the English wall paint to the velvet armchair cover and Danish ceramic dishes.

This cozy place makes us want to stay forever, but the allure of the nearby cafés like Apotek 57 or Atelier September is too strong.

The Nyboder is perfectly situated for city walks, whether to the Botanical Garden with its noteworthy Natural History Museum or through the King’s Garden into the city center.

It’s not far to Nyhavn or the Kastellet, where you can stroll along the star-shaped fortress and stop for a photo with the Little Mermaid.

Jette’s apartment is ideal for anyone who, like us, loves a quiet, cozy, beautifully designed retreat that is still within walking distance of all the city’s adventures.
